This year’s tournament continued to grow in both size and impact, with games beginning at Friday morning and running throughout the weekend. Alongside the competitive hockey on the ice, several new elements were introduced that enhanced the overall experience for players, families, and the broader community.
On Friday evening, we hosted a pep rally that brought together over 1,200 attendees to celebrate the athletes and the spirit of the tournament. During the pep rally, we proudly recognized the Ryder & Radek All-Star Team members, presenting each All-Star with a jersey and commemorative plaque. The evening featured live entertainment from the Mad Chad Band, appearances by Hunter, the Edmonton Oilers mascot, and an engaging Coaches Skills Competition hosted by Ryder and Lisa from The Sauce, creating an exciting and inclusive atmosphere for all ages.
On Saturday morning, we were honoured to welcome Gene Principe, who spent several hours at the rink interviewing players and coaches, taking photos, and connecting with families. His humility, enthusiasm, and genuine support of grassroots hockey left a lasting impression and added a special level of excitement to the tournament.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors for their generosity and belief in this event. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our volunteers, whose time, dedication, and behind-the-scenes efforts made this tournament possible, and to the parents and families for their unwavering support and positive presence at the rink.
Thank you to the players and coaches for their passion, sportsmanship, and commitment to the game — you are the heart of this tournament. Finally, we are deeply grateful to Erin Madu and Lisa Miller for their energy and leadership throughout the months of planning and the entire weekend as well as the Beaumont Amateur Hockey Association (BAHA) for their continued partnership and support. Together, you helped create a weekend that celebrated not only hockey, but community, connection, and the lasting legacy of Ryder and Radek.
