For the 2025 holiday season, the R&R Empowering Society of Alberta proudly teamed up with Ryder & Lisa from Play 107.1 for a heartwarming initiative: the Community Helping Hands Project.
Throughout November and December of 2025, we asked the public to nominate someone they knew who could use a helping hand during the holidays — whether it was a friend, neighbour, co-worker, or family member facing a tough time. With the help of Ryder & Lisa and the incredible Play 107.1 community, we received a wave of heartfelt nominations.
From those submissions, we selected six deserving individuals and families to receive personalized support — including gifts, essentials, and meaningful surprises that helped brighten their holidays.
Each person we helped also received a generously donated Christmas meal from Freson IGA, helping to bring warmth and comfort to their table during a season that can be especially hard for many.
Whether it was groceries, warm clothing, toys, or simple moments of joy, every gesture was made possible through community kindness and a shared belief that no one should feel forgotten during the holidays.
We’re so grateful to Ryder, Lisa, the entire Play 107.1 team, and Freson IGA for partnering with us to spread joy, restore hope, and remind us all what the holiday season is truly about.

Over the past 6 years, we’ve had the absolute pleasure of hosting 6 unforgettable Ladies' Nights in Whitecourt, and we want to extend a HUGE thank you to every single one of you fabulous ladies who’ve joined us. Your support, laughter, and love have made these events truly special.
Originally, Ladies' Night supported the Wolverines under Brent and Tracy’s ownership. Now, after this year's amazing event, we’re excited to pass the baton back to Terriann and Cory Masse, who will once again host it in support of the Whitecourt Wolverines. While we’re handing over this incredible event, rest assured that R&R isn’t going anywhere! We’ll continue to empower and host events all across Alberta.
To all of our sponsors throughout the years—THANK YOU. We couldn’t have done this without your unwavering support. To every woman who shared laughs, hugs, and even tears with us over the years—thank you for making memories that will last a lifetime.

In 2024, the R&R Empowering Society of Alberta proudly launched our R&R Scholarship Program, awarding 11 post-secondary students with scholarships of $1,000 each to support their educational journey. We're excited to continue this initiative in 2025, helping even more students pursue their academic and career goals.
Be sure to check back in the spring of 2025 for the next round of applications and your chance to apply for this valuable opportunity! Together, we can empower Alberta's future leaders.
